Hi all.
Smack me, I’ve been a lazy blogger.
We-ell, a LOT of things have happened, and I can’t help but feel that I’m moving into a different phase of my life now. This semester feels really different from past semesters in the sense that it’s not as busy as previous ones academically, but more taxing on the extra-curricular side.
This is an uber-long catchup post, so click if you wanna read more about what I’ve been doing in the weeks that I’ve been missing.
Performed a lot for the ME209 orientation, Checkmate. Got to know a lot of my ME208 juniors a LOT better, had mad fun with them in a few nights. Sang to close their dresscode night–two songs, with Joash accompanying on piano. For their finale night (4th Sept), got together with the-band-previously-known-as-PUS and “final-debuted” as Superfly McLovin’. We played 5 songs, one was an impromptu encore. I did 3, Izzat did 2. Sweated like crazy, jumped around onstage, probably sang a hundred notes wrong, but thoroughly enjoyed myself. Crowd was awesome. See my facebook for vids!

With Joash, orientation committee president & a man I deeply respect for who he is & what he stands for. Whichever girl gets him is super-lucky.

Ben, my butler. Much camwhorage was the order of the night.
Then we had NOISE & MOVEMENT on 9th Sept, in conjunction with the IMU Art Festival’s “Go M.A.D.” (Make a difference). Many, many bands played. Choir sang. Dance club had two dance groups in. Sold badges… recruited new members… ran around a lot. Response was pretty good, but I think my planning of it and itinerary was not so good… Sorry to my juniors whose performance got cut short (and they skipped class for it)! Many more chances to play coming up, alright? :)

New ME209 Sem 1 band, The STDs (Sound-Transmitted Disease).
My direction in uni also seems different… Hmm. I don’t know.
Recently, my playlist has been looping Imogen Heap’s new album, Ellipse. It’s a FANTASTIC album, and shows a maturing, darker sound to her music. Speak For Yourself was a lighter, more ethereal sound, but Ellipse is like the older, gothic sister. Haha. My favourite song is Half Life, as I lyric-blogged in the last post.
Can you believe it, I’m in cheerleading? Never thought the day would come. I still suck at dancing and all, but it’s fun to try and work my way through it. Now I really need to seriously lose weight, hahaha.

Our proposed cheer uniform design... My very first ever. *nervous*
Went for CF camp, “Choose Healing, Understand your Purpose” last weekend (11 – 13 Sept)…It was a thoroughly exhausting 3D2N, but filled with the most hilarious and mindblowing fun I’ve had in a while. And a pretty okay take-home message, though I thought the FES people could have done a better job with the sessions… Didn’t particularly feel the impact.

Ribboned Jon. :) He said to let everyone know he was sleeping in this picture.
Hardly have time for myself these days… It’s a little frustrating. Haven’t been in the mood to blog because of that. It’s always wake up, rush to uni, meetings slash class slash events, rush to church, practice, go home with or without yumcha session, print notes, shower, sleep. And the cycle repeats. I am almost begging for time to sit down and study, weird as it sounds…
It’s also frustrating because I’ve been procrastinating reading my Bible and I’m behind with my daily readings. Makes me feel very unfulfilled and short-tempered. :( An angsty Jade may bite.
Can I just go back to the mountain and lie down on the dewy grass with my Bible and God?
