EDT luv

September 27, 2008

I never knew shopping therapy would work for me until todayyyy. :)))

Sent Jo Ann off to the airport this morning because she was going home to KK for the Raya hols (see you next Sunday, Jo! xx ), and mummy suggested I take advantage of the duty-free EDT & cosmetics sales.

I love The Body Shop & J.Lo. <33 Finally got my J.Lo Live, and mummy got Love at First Glow. The J.Lo EDTs came with a pink compact makeup pouch (4 eyeshadow colors, 2 lipgloss colors). Then, pomegranate body mist & black eye kohl from The Body Shop. My mummy luvvs me! I CAN’T WAIT to be able to use all of this stuff!! Unfortunately, that’ll have to wait since I have exams soon and will be cloistered up…

Afterwards, I went to get my hair back into shape with a trim and shiz. My hairstylist asked me if I was on diet, which I thought was cute. <3 Apparently I lost weight between visits, of which the last one was three weeks ago.

Tonight I might go for sushi with my parents, since my brother’s away at a diving trip… /envy

DARN IMUU!!! I have to be locked up with my books now, because I really, really want to do my best for Summative 2 and my EOS2. Everyone else is doing so much more than I am, and I feel like the ultimate slacker. I was not this relaxed when Summative 1 came along last semester.

—————————-

Oh, last night I went for a BBQ at Tuck Lam’s house, in Glenmarie Court. The houses in there are massive… I felt exactly like rusa masuk kampung when I stepped into his house. Jo Ann came with, because she was staying over at my house before I dropped her at the airport this morning.

The BBQ was reaaalllyyyy good! His mum seasoned all the meat and seafood herself, and it all tasted amazing. I was pretty zonked out from Euphoria the night before and 3 hours of sleep, so I didn’t socialize much… I was more preoccupied with finding a comfortable spot on one of his multiple couches, lol. He does have a beautiful home, though. Three-storey house, with his and his brother’s floor being the middle one. He’s got a really cute puppy (it’s a full grown dog-lah, but I call everything cute a “puppy”), which is a golden retriever. <3 Its name is Russell (sp??)!

Met his cousin, whose name is Mei Yen (sp??), and is n the new M2/08 intake. SHE LOVES GACKT TOO!! AND MIYAVI! AND HYDE!!! AND SHE’S SEEN MOON CHILD!!! AND NANA THE MOVIE!! ANNNNNDDD SHE LOVES TAKUMII!!! In addition to this wonderful line of credentials, she is also the President of the Malaysian Lolita Club. <3 We’re going to get along very well.

Where got time to study now…

I posted this question on my facebook status a while back when something provoked the though, and didn’t really expect any comments… But I got some, and because I found them interesting (and didn’t want to lose them), here they are. :) Thanks you guys! If you’re shyyyy, tell me and I’ll take down your comment.

Jin Lin: frens r really frens when they r wit u when u nid them, to cheer u up,to make u happy when u r sad,to be there when u r happy..n many many more..lol…. :) ..true frens r the best!!

Mui Yit: friends are really friends when they know the pretty and not so pretty things about you and still love you for who you are.

Neil: According to the 10 Commandments, friends can all be summed up in one phrase “Love thy neighbour as thyself”. Friends should be everywhere…I have found that we spend too much time in our own “circle of comfort”, and do not branch out to others who might need someone to feel welcomed and accepted by. I believe that it is our duty as Christians to extend a hand in friendship to everyone.

Thomas: Friends don’t abandon you for the library :)

Darren: Some laugh along when you’re happy.

Some sit around you when you’re sad.

what people need sometimes is not always that little talk; because telling someone not to worry has to be the most irresponsible thing one can say; nobody can choose whether to worry or not.

but when you look right into their eyes and ask for help, that is the true test for …  Read Morefriendship because;
1. most people make excuses saying that they cant help. These are also the people that laugh with you when you’re happy.
2. some look away and leave you in the dark and tell you not to worry.

1 and 2 are acquaintances.

3. They’ll put their heads under the knife to go all out to help you, and if they can’t they’ll find channels to seek help for you. That, is when friends are really friends. I only know of 5 such person to date; the rest are either acquaintances or have yet to be tested. So how many of your friends, are really friends hmm? :)

Joel: Friends are friends when you choose to believe they are.

Patrick: Friends are everywhere, but true Friends are ppl who u give them power to hurt u, but trust them not to…

John Wee: Friends are friends when they have chicken with them. Yum~!

As for me, friends are really friends when you know no matter what you’ve done to them (or they to you), you can still kick back together–crying, laughing, screaming, sharing, and loving. When you can roll your eyes at each others’ outrageous comments/dumbness. When you can talk about (almost) absolutely everything together–while keeping it exclusively in the “imaginary car” LOL. And it’s cool.

So, what do you think? :) Drop me a line.

IMU Cup glory and fun

September 20, 2008

Today (yesterday, the 19th, since it’s past midnight now) was the closing ceremony for the IMU cup. It was a rip-roaring, loud, voice-losing time. :)))) I’m SO PROUD to be a part of MEDT 1/08. We did awesome!!! Cheerleading was fantastic. Supporters were super enthusiastic. All the competitors were great!! MEDT BANG BANG BANG all the way!!! <33333 We rock la.

I got to sit on Kor Woi’s shoulders!! And then Leon and Matthew were nice enough to help lift me up… I don’t know what the stunt is called, but they told me to tense my whole body when I was lifted up and supported on my feet. Scary! But funnn. Also camwhored a bitt with Jo. Puppy looked so happy with everyone!

I’m going to get fit, then join cheerleading next year (only if IMU cup is still by the batch system, not the lame “house” system). And at least one sport. I’ll balance my time better so I can be more a part of the entire thing. I had so much fun when supporting, watching the games, and cheering on our players! Got my first IMU medal today… and gold no less! Hehe. <3

So much for studying, haha. Now that everything’s over, I really have to sit down and focus… Because time is running out on me. And I must continue to jog!! Need to reach my goal by my birthday next year. :3 Hee.

I’m happy tonight. Don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun with so many people in my life.

Also, I didn’t get to say goodbye to Froggy in person… And now you’re in London, you silly pie. I’ll email you, and we’ll meet up when you’re back next, alright? I wish you all the best in your law studies–do me proud, okay? Love you lots, and miss you even more. Let’s go to another poetry slam and dessert, hahaha. :)

Resolution

September 18, 2008

:)

Its a two-pronged post today, because it means two things.

One is that I’ve resolved an issue that’s been sitting on my conscience for a while.

Two is that I’m making a resolution to stop saying things I don’t actually mean, even if it’s just for effect and the lulz. Especially if they’re mean.

Because I’m not like that at all and I should stop pretending bla bla bla.

It’s okay to be boring, because that’s who I am deep down inside.

Besides, I’m not boring to myself, or to God, or to my family.

Brings to mind the song “Reflections” from Mulan. /hums

…I’m hella narcissistic too, because I can’t stop blogging and camwhoring.

AUGGGHH!!

September 18, 2008

I really tried hard to give the benefit of doubt to the Seremban hospital visit for nursing week… But but but I DIDN’T SEE MUCH POINT IN IT! D:

It was partially interesting seeing the bedside charts and leafing through the admissions booklet, but I’ve seen the other stuff before, and though the largeness of the hospital was a tad overwhelming… It was boring. The ward sister we were assigned to was really nice, and she was going through everything with us with a “for the umpteeth time” atmosphere. She’s not to blame–I’d be like that too if I had to give the same tour four times consecutively, twice a year.

And to top it all off, she had her own work to see to as well.

Meh, we left early. Yay for Jon driving!

Port Dickson tomorrow… Maybe we’ll drop by the beach instead. :) Yeaaah.

Sent from Above, Definitely

September 15, 2008

Dear mum and dad,

I really, really love you both. <3

It’s hilarious how much you guys support me and make me feel so awesomely precious.

AND love everything I do no matter how stupid it may be, how careless it may be… or how mean it may be.

The prayers you guys cover me with are more than enough proof of your love for me, and I couldn’t have asked for a better set of parents (even if they are a little on the short side!).

Oh, and my brother… for being the funny guy he is. Love ya, bro.

What would I do without you guys?

Couldn’t do anything. Honestly.

:) THANK YOU GOD FOR MY FAMILY!!!!

About today’s Music & Performance Club welcoming party, I think it went pretty well! Apart from a few hiccups here and there, it was a good party/meeting. The new members were enthusiastic, and even brought some of their friends to join/sign up on the spot!

Poor Josh is sick. And so am I. And Christy. And Kay Mun. And Chloe. Haha… There must be something going around.

Hope we all get well enough for NOISE! next week. Which reminds me… I need to get those banners done.

The Pharmacy CAL Lab was…a little fulfilling, but on the whole, not that beneficial and rather boring. Get your friends to sign attendance for you–better take the time to study, unless you find it fun simulating stimulating a guinea pig’s ileum with acetylcholine. And plotting graphs.

Kitschy Kitchen Blues

September 14, 2008

I now understand why people have maids.

Or cook with friends.

……

6 hours in the kitchen making pasta & dip & chopping veggies for approx. 40-50 people is totally a workout (and this is excluding cleanup & loading, which was another 1 hour-ish).

And at the end of it all, I lost my appetite because I was working with food the whole day and felt full from just doing that…

I mean, I missed cooking, but to have so much all at one go…

Wow.

It was kinda fun, but really, really tiring.

I am SO ready for bed now.

p/s – I need a massage. Any takers/sponsors? :D

Learning to Love…

September 10, 2008

..is a difficult thing.

What would you do if in front of you is placed someone so perfect, so “for you”, SO compatible, but the person doesn’t share your faith? You’re at the crossroads; one road leads to this perfect (or not-so-perfect) someone, the other leads to God. Who matters more?

I went to cell tonight, my mind a little confused, a little distracted, and more than filled with thoughts of someone. We talked about agape, God’s love, then we went and invited my cell leader’s (Kevin’s) neighbours out to play with lanterns in lieu of the approaching Mooncake / Mid-autumn festival. After a charming, lantern-lit walk around TTDI park, we closed the meeting for the night.

After a while of deliberation, I approached Kevin and shared with him what was on my mind. He posed the above questions to me–that it might be what God’s trying to show me. What’s the bottom line? Where do I really stand? What does God really mean to me? Why is it so important that my significant other shares my faith and love for this unseen, huge God who created us all?

I found that I didn’t know. I thought about it on the drive home, but I really didn’t know. I still don’t know. Sucks to think I was just parroting what I heard was important in a life partner without really knowing why myself. What would it mean if my life partner was a Christian, like me? Would we share some sort of deeper connection, or would he be a better person, or would we do Bible studies and prayer times together? Would he love me more? Why??

I’m curious. Would all that stuff really matter to me if this person matched me in every other way but one? Is it possible to love another without loving God enough to know why He’s central to my relationships and life?

Sometimes, your mind and body pull you in one direction. Hard. But then your heart weakly tugs in another. And all the time, in the back of your mind, you know you shouldn’t, shouldn’t, shouldn’t. But you do. And then you’ve taken a step down a road that could potentially lead to unwanted pain and emotional turmoil. And you could lose a friend.

So many “what-if”s, “why”s, and “would-it-be”s.

Here’s my prayer:

May my cry come before you, O LORD;
give me understanding according to your word.

May my supplication come before you;
deliver me according to your promise.

May my lips overflow with praise,
for you teach me your decrees.

May my tongue sing of your word,
for all your commands are righteous.

May your hand be ready to help me,
for I have chosen your precepts.

I long for your salvation, O LORD,
and your law is my delight.

Let me live that I may praise you,
and may your laws sustain me.

I have strayed like a lost sheep.
Seek your servant,
for I have not forgotten your commands.

Psalm 119:169-176 (NIV)

Say It Again

September 9, 2008

:) I sangggg today, after a long hiatus. Marie Digby’s Say It Again and Josie and the Pussycats’ You Don’t See Me. Alvin sang too! It’s been a while since I heard him sing, so it was good. I really like his voice. He did Edwin McCain’s I’ll Be. Andrew accompanied us both for all three numbers. It was for recruitment drive, which was sort of successful–we got around 40+ new members for the Music and Performance club. People from all programs: BMedSc, Nutrition, BPharm, the new ME2/08 batch… Yeah.

And I met someone.

:)

Yeah.

:)))))

Too early to say anything now, but yeah.

For the Love of Music

September 5, 2008

I’ve been browsing random links on YouTube to find new tracks and artistes for my playlist. My search yielded excellent results, some of which I am compelled to share. :))

Say hello to nu jazz / jazztronic! Jazzy songs fused with addictive electronic beats, much like house music, but better, in my opinion. Some names to check out are Fujii Lena, MAKAI, and Jazztronik. :) Japanesey because I like it that way. One song in particular stands out: Garden of Love by MAKAI ft. Thelma Aoyama. YouTube it. “In my garden of love, you are my blue sky~”

My love for j-urban still remains, though; this genre is recommended for those who love the likes of Ne-yo, Janet Jackson, etc. The ladies to listen to are JAMOSA, Thelma Aoyama, and yoshika. This one song, Soba ni Iru Ne by Thelma Aoyama ft. SoulJa, is really soothing to listen to. JAMOSA is very soulful in her singing and has an unmistakable style. Thelma Aoyama’s voice is amazingly sweet, yet powerful enough when she needs to use it. Her album, DIARY, is a testament to that. I listened to it track-after-track, not inclined to skip anything at all.

So yes. <3 Music.

THE MUSIC AND PERFORMANCE CLUB OF IMU IS HOLDING THE NEXT NOISE AND MOVEMENT VERY SOON! Stay tuned, people!

And last but not least, congratulations guys~ We scrabblers got MEDT1/08 our first gold! (I think) Yay Ashwin, Navin, Siddarth!
